Reid Claims Classic Div. Title at Smith and Wesson Revolver Regional

Los Osos, Calif. – Roger Reid of Bentonville, Ark. won the Classic division title at the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) 6th Annual Smith & Wesson Southern Regional Revolver Championship hosted by the Revolver Association of Mississippi on October 7-9 at Magnolia Rifle & Pistol Club in Florence, Miss.

Leading the field from start to finish, Reid took top honors on six of the ten stages and posted a final time of 298.26 seconds, taking the Classic title while finishing 13th overall.

“Roger put forth a commanding performance in Classic division competition at the Smith & Wesson Southern Regional and gave his fellow competitors very little opportunity to close the gap,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.

Bob Briggs of Memphis., Tenn. finished second with two stage wins and a time of 330.71 seconds. Third place went to Jim Lowman with 394.94 seconds, while fourth place went to Dan Miller, who won two stages but ran into trouble on the final stage and finished with a time of 678.97 seconds.

The Smith & Wesson Southern Regional Revolver Championship was the fifth of seven events in the 2011 ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson. The remaining events are the Smith & Wesson Australia Regional Revolver Championship on October 14-16 in Brisbane, Australia at the Metropolitan Pistol Club & City Of Brisbane Pistol Club range, and the Smith & Wesson New England Regional Revolver Championship on October 23 at the Watervliet Fish & Game Protective Association in Guilderland, N.Y.
