Atlanta Falcons Pay Tribute to Wounded Military Veterans with Fishing Program

New Berlin, WI – October 17, 2011 – Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American sportsman, is proud to feature the Atlanta Falcons with an exclusive segment called, “Fishing with the Falcons,” available now on Xfinity on Demand – Get Local ATL. Xfinity On Demand gives viewers the ability to watch their favorite programming and all things Atlanta in a few short clicks.

Atlanta Falcons President Rich McKay, Head Coach Mike Smith, Falcons cheerleaders and former alumni, including former wide receivers Billy “White Shoes” Johnson and Michael Haynes, pay tribute to America’s wounded military. This powerful program highlights the sacrifices made by America’s wounded military. The event takes place on Lake Lanier in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

In its fourth year, this unique event affords each veteran an opportunity to be paired with a Falcon player on individual fishing boats in an attempt to compete for various prizes, such as most catches, the largest striper fish, the largest spotted bass fish and the least amount of fish caught. Not only did the veterans have a wonderful day on the water, but life-long relationships with the Falcons’ coaching staff and former players were forged.
