New 4W Reticle by Swaroski Optik

Cranston, Rhode Island – SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA announces a new reticle to their riflescope line. The 4W reticle is a wind compensating reticle that is combined with a Ballistic Turret (BT).

The new 4W is a wind compensating reticle, designed to be used in conjunction with the Ballistic Turret (BT) model riflescope. This allows the shooter, or hunter, to dial in the correct elevation needed for a shot with the Ballistic Turret (BT), and then be able to compensate for wind utilizing the vertical marks along the crosshair of the reticle. These marks are placed in 2 MOA (Minute of Angle) increments.

The riflescopes that will be available with the new BT – 4W reticle will be: Z3 4-12×50, Z5 3.5-18×44, and Z5 5-25×52.

Tom Hogan, Technical Product Specialist for SWAROVSKI OPTIK NORTH AMERICA says, “SWAROVSKI OPITK has now provided a way to compensate for wind with the extremely popular BT (Ballistic Turret). We have again responded to consumer input by delivering one of the most advanced, but easy to use rifle scope systems capable of compensating for both elevation and windage trajectories, especially at long range. This system will help the hunter to make a more accurate, ethical shot by taking the ‘Hold Over/Hold Off’ guesswork away.

To determine the correct wind compensation marks, there is a Ballistic Calculator featured on the SWAROVSKI OPTIK website (WWW.SWAROVSKIOPTIK.COM orWWW.SWAROVSKIOPTIK.COM/BT). It is very much dependent on wind speed and direction, in conjunction with the velocity and ballistic coefficient of the cartridge
