Oregon’s Wild Coho Season Closes in Coos Basin

   10.21.11

Charleston, Ore. October 20, 2011 – The wild coho salmon season in the Coos Basin will close at the end of the day on Friday, Oct. 21. That’s when ODFW fish biologists predict the wild coho quota of 1,200 fish for the basin will have been caught.

The basin remains open for adipose fin-clipped steelhead and fall chinook salmon. There are temporary regulations in place for the 2011 fall chinook season and anglers are urged to visit the ODFW website.

For the latest updates on the wild coho fisheries, go to the ODFW website.
