Blue Heron Communications, a 25-year fixture in the marketing and public relations for leading outdoor-endemic brands, announces the formal expansion of the company’s service offerings as its newest division, Blue Heron Consulting, begins operations this week. The primary focus of the newly established Blue Heron Consulting will be working on behalf of its first client, Brownells, to strengthen the brand’s relationships with select customer bases within the law enforcement, tactical and military markets.

Blue Heron Consulting is the product of the agency’s quarter century of high-level industry experience, which affords it unequalled insight into the minds of decision makers at levels ranging from end users to corporate leaders. Drawing on its longstanding relationship with Brownells, Blue Heron Consulting will reacquaint select customer groups within a 21-state area to the turnkey product offerings available through the legendary catalog and online retailer. By leveraging its industry contacts on behalf of Brownells, Blue Heron Consulting will be able to assist these select customers in choosing from a wider array of brands and products based on needs, budgets and other factors; facilitating training and after-the-sale support; serving as a liaison between law enforcement/military and applicable non-profit groups, when necessary; and maximizing purchasing power through Brownells discounts.

“We’ve enjoyed an extremely positive and longstanding relationship with Blue Heron, working with them directly and indirectly on a number of marketing and promotions initiatives throughout the years,” said Brownells President, Pete Brownell. “When they approached us with an idea to take Brownells’ marketing in a direction that targets specific and select customer groups, employing some of the same methods that they’ve been so successful with in dealing with the media, we saw the potential and couldn’t wait to get started.”

Steve Denny, an outdoor-industry veteran who most recently served as the General Manager for the Brownells Government Programs and Sales Division, has joined Blue Heron Consulting as its President. Denny, whose decades of law enforcement and military service brings unrivaled expertise to the post, along with two additional consultants, will be headquartered in North Carolina where they will call on select customer groups along the East Coast.
