Remington Arms Sponsors IDPA’s Carolina Cup Championship

The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) announced that Remington Arms Company, one of the firearms industry’s leading manufacturers of firearms and sporting goods products for the hunting, shooting sports, law enforcement and military markets, will be a major sponsor of the upcoming Carolina Cup championship.

The Carolina Cup is one of IDPA’s three major championships and will take place June 14-16 at The Range in Oxford, North Carolina. More than 300 of IDPA’s top shooters are expected to put upwards of 75,000 rounds downrange in pursuit of titles in Custom Defensive Pistol, Enhanced Service Pistol, Stock Service Pistol, Stock Service Revolver and Enhanced Service Revolver, the five divisions in IDPA competition.

As one of the main sponsors of the Carolina Cup Remington will sponsor two stages in The Range’s Remington Shoot House. Match competitors and attendees will also have the opportunity to test various Remington firearms, including the Model 1911 R1 pistol, in Remington’s demonstration bay.

“Remington has been a tremendous supporter of both The Range and the Carolina Cup. Headquartered right here in North Carolina, we have worked closely with Remington officials to provide greater opportunities for recreational shooters, and their generous sponsorship of the Remington Shoot House and the Carolina Cup represents the culmination of those efforts,” said Scott Ruby, sponsor coordinator for the Carolina Cup.

The Carolina Cup is one of the most popular matches on the IDPA competition calendar and is known for its challenging courses of fire designed to test all of a shooter’s skills. Due to both the match’s popularity and the explosive growth in IDPA membership, the Carolina Cup has been sold out since early March.
