The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms and ammunition industry, has promoted Bill Dunn to managing director, marketing communications.
In his new role, Dunn will be responsible for overseeing a staff of 11 communications professionals and developing communications strategy, messaging and branding. Dunn joined NSSF in 2005 and has worked in several communications roles with increasing responsibility, most recently as director of emerging media.
“Bill brings diverse communication skills, having been a journalist, and is widely recognized for his expertise and leadership,” said Chris Dolnack, NSSF senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “His knowledge of both traditional and emerging media communications positions us to continue to move forward in expanding our initiatives to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports.”
Dunn is a former daily newspaper editor and reporter and a graduate of Fairfield University. He is an avid shooter.
“We have an outstanding group of professionals here at NSSF, and I am proud to be a part of this team,” said Dunn. “I look forward to working on behalf of our more than 7,000 members to ensure our industry’s voice is heard.”
