Help Bring Fishing Back to Cape Hatteras National Seashore

Send a message supporting legislation that will bring common sense – and restore recreational access – to the Park Service’s management of Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
The National Park Service’s unfair fishing access closures at Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area, one of the East Coast’s premier surf fishing destinations, are receiving increasing attention in Congress. We need your help to persuade Congress to act now to restore reasonable public access to this national treasure.
On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives held a hearing exploring the disturbing trend within the Park Service of limiting recreational access at national parks, including Cape Hatteras.
Last week also saw the introduction of important legislation (S. 2372) in the Senate that will allow anglers and other visitors to the Cape Hatteras seashore reasonable access to the park’s beaches while still providing adequate protection for shorebirds and other native wildlife. S. 2372, sponsored by Senators Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) mirrors legislation that was introduced in the House of Representatives in February (H.R. 4094) by Representative Walter Jones (R-N.C.).
KeepAmericaFishing™ needs your help to ensure that this important legislation swiftly passes through Congress to restore access to Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area.
