USA Shooting Supports NRA Indoor Championships
NRAblog 05.30.12
One week remains in the challenge period of the National Open Indoor Rifle Championships. Although results are not yet final, some shooters may be getting something a little extra based on their preliminary scores.
USA Shooting is getting involved with the Indoor Championship and has partnered with the NRA to help foster American shooting talent. Always on the lookout for the best shooters in the country, USA Shooting will begin offering free entry to their National Championships to some of the Indoor Rifle Championships’ top shooters – as long as they meet a certain condition.
The top fifteen shooters in each of the international disciplines of both the Open and Junior championships will get their free admissions as long as they have not previously done so. Considering this is the offer’s fist year, none of the shooters had a problem and all 60 available invitations were sent out.
The 19th Annual USA Shooting National Championships actually start today and run through June 11 at Fort Benning, Georgia. While the airgun range is air conditioned, smallbore shooters will soon get well acquainted with the hot and humid George weather this time of year.
This is a very generous offer by USA Shooting and and excellent opportunity for shooters looking to get more involved in professional competition.
Also being held at Ft. Benning are the Smallbore Olympic Team Trials. The USA will be going up against some tough opponents this summer in London and NRAblog will be covering the United States’ quest for gold as they come across the wire.
