Colorado’s Eldorado Canyon State Park Lifts Wildlife Trail Closure

Eldorado Canyon State Park has lifted a seasonal wildlife closure on the upper loop of the Rattlesnake Gulch trail because there has been no evidence of eagle nesting activity for several weeks.
The 1-mile section of trail connects the old Crag Hotel Ruins to the Continental Divide Overlook site. The Rattlesnake Gulch trail is open to hiking and mountain biking opportunities and offers spectacular views of the canyon and the eastern plains southwest of Boulder.
Eldorado Canyon State Park closes trails and climbing routes to protect the nesting and roosting sites of the area’s prairie falcons and golden eagles. The park staff and the volunteers who monitor raptors thank all park visitors for cooperating with the closures while they are in effect.
