New Jersey’s Tentative Migratory Bird Season Dates Announced
OutdoorHub 06.13.12
The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife has released the tentative migratory bird hunting season dates as approved at the June 12 Fish and Game Council meeting. Although they are expected to be approved by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, they will not be formally finalized through the Federal Register process until the conclusion of the public comment period in late summer.
Please note that season dates for Arctic nesting geese, including Atlantic brant and Atlantic Population Canada geese, are yet to be determined pending annual surveys that are conducted in late June.
The Migratory Bird Regulations booklet will be available on the Division’s web site by late August and paper copies will be available at Division offices, license agents and sporting goods stores throughout the state in September.
