Sportsman Channel and Steven Rinella Roll Out Season Two of MeatEater, Exclusive Original Production

Live to hunt and hunt to live! This sentiment is the staple by which Steven Rinella chooses to live his life.  Join the knowledgeable and always entertaining Rinella for season two of MeatEater, exclusively on Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman. MeatEater is primed to take audiences on a thrill-ride across the U.S. and abroad with “killer hunts and killer food.”  MeatEater debuts Sunday, July 1 at 9pm ET/PT during the premiere week of “Made in America,” which kicks off 575 hours of new content across 100 different series for the network’s Q3 lineup.

Season two will bring unforgettable journeys as Rinella continues to push the boundaries of a “typical” hunt by traversing the U.S. landscape for big game and unusual species. In addition to bringing viewers more spot and stalk hunts, Rinella will travel abroad for monumental hunts and explore different ways to cook game.

“Steven’s story telling on TV, magazines, and in his books are second to none and keep people asking for more,” said Gavin Harvey, CEO of Sportsman Channel. “His breadth of hunting and cooking knowledge, as well as his ability to convey the emotional and spiritual aspects of what it means to be a hunter, are what really drives us to prey on and consume wild game. Season two is certainly going to be a must watch as I know Steven has tremendous hunts planned for his fans.”

“Without a doubt, I’m most excited about an upcoming Dall sheep hunt in the Alaska Range,” said Rinella. “The Dall sheep is tough as nails, one of the most honorable animals in my opinion. And since my brother’s an Alaska resident, I’m free from the legal obligation of using a guide. We’ll be going into the mountains on our terms, and viewers are going to see a raw and exciting adventure. It’s an honor to be associated with Sportsman Channel for a second season!”

MeatEater will end with Rinella preparing the day’s harvest for a mouth-watering meal.  “When I eat a wild animal that I respect and admire, I feel like I capture some element of that animal and take some of that wildness into myself,” said Rinella. “I’m most excited about trying new cooking methods. Some will be bizarre, some will be sublime, but they’ll all be fascinating. Our audience better get ready for some tasting viewing.”

Don’t miss MeatEater  and 21 other brand-new series starting June 25 for Sportsman Channel’s exciting premiere week, “Made in America.”  The network’s Q3 lineup includes 575 hours of new content, including 22 brand-new series and 70 returning series with all-new episodes, featuring the network’s battled-tested hunters, legendary anglers and top experts.  The campaign, which bows June 25, is a multimillion dollar, multimedia effort that will garner in excess of 200 million impressions.
