Shoot NRA’s Oldest Discipline this August

The National Rifle Association’s oldest shooting discipline, that of black powder variety, is scheduled to hold its national title match this August at the NRA’s Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.

The Black Powder Target Rifle Championships is on the books for August 18 through 25. Featured is a prize table so unbelievably big that just about everyone will walk away with cool new gear.

Once you sign up and get the championship program it has all the information you need to not only shoot the match, but get situated in Raton with lodging arrangements and nearby activities.

“We put the scorecards right in the program this year so everything is neatly packaged in the program,” Match Director Jonathan Leighton said.

If you’ve never shot a Black Powder match before and your interest is piqued, check out the championships’ website or email Jonathan.
