Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Results for the Alabama River at Selma

This past Saturday June 24th, the Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail hit the waters of the Alabama River at Selma, Alabama which will play host to the 2012 Cabela’s King Kat Classic September 27th, 28th and 29th. In the event over 70 top anglers from 8 different states were competing not only for cash and prizes, but the opportunity to qualify for the 2012 Cabela’s King Kat Classic.

“It was HOT with over 300 spectators making good use of what shade could be found, said Tanner Tabor. The heat plus lack of current made fishing tough and add to it the fact that these fish are just coming off the spawn just made it even tougher. Many pre-fishing reports had teams thinking it would take over 100 pounds to win, but that’s fishing”, said Tanner. “At the Kids Fishing Rodeo Saturday morning we had over 100 kids and I think every kid had their line broke at least once, but even with the heat all 103 kids caught at least 1 fish”, said Tanner.
