Pursuit Channel announces the Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 6:00P EST launch of an explosive waterfowl-centric content collection called Whistling Wings. The Whistling Wings destination will be viewable in 40-plus million audited homes, including all DIRECTV and DISH Network households, every Saturday evening throughout the remainder of 2012.
Duck Dog Waterfowl, featuring Howard Avery and Ryan Fortier, front the Whistling Wings group with epic adventure and know-how. Avery, now the owner of Mac Island Calls, began hunting waterfowl with friends following the untimely death of his father. “I heard whistling and quacks in the dark sky above my head and my hair stood up and a chill ran down my spine,” Avery says of that first hunt.
Avery’s show business partner, Ryan Fortier, owner of Long Hollow Retrievers, says: “My true passion for waterfowl hunting remains central to my passion for working with hunting dogs.”
The Honey Brake Experience, award-winning reality theater produced in association with MOOSE Media and Starkville, Mississippi-based Broadcast Media, is next at 6:30P. Honey Brake celebrates the wise-use activities of the people of the 40,000-acre Louisiana Delta Plantation, an outdoors recreation showplace teeming with whitetails, hogs, ‘gators and waterfowl. With camera work by David Linstrom (National Geographic, Survivor and Storm chasers), you’re riding shotgun with some of the best sportsmen in paradise, including top hunters Drew Keeth, Jared Mophett and Blake Soileau.
In association with Beretta, Mossy Oak, GoPro, War Eagle, Gator Tail, MOJO, Epic Wakeboats, Rig ‘Em Right and Mountain Khakis, Honey Brake can also be seen Wednesdays at 8:30P and Mondays at 12:30P.
Avian-X, the much anticipated television masterstroke of waterfowl hunting icon Fred Zink, is next at 7:30P. Zink vetted networks for months before deciding that the Pursuit Channel was right for Avian-X’s explosive high-speed imagery, the hard-won result of maybe the best waterfowl video team ever assembled: Walt Gabbards, Jeff Shelby, C.J. White and Jimmy Wren. With the support of Zink’s entire staff, including 115 Elite, Z-Unit, pro and field staffers, Avian-X takes super-enthusiast authenticity to new heights. (Additional viewings of Avian-X appear Tuesdays at 7:30P and Sundays at 11:00P EST.)
