Texas Team Trial Presented by Cabela’s Announces Championship Qualifiers

The Texas Team Trail presented by Cabela’s is set to end its season on Lake Amistad in October. With a closing season, the Texas Team Trail has the field set with 72 teams that qualified to fish the final event.
Teams qualified for the championship event that is to be held on October 20-21 (with 2 days of practice fishing allowed – October 18-19), by entering every event held this year. The final two-day event will have epic ramifications on the Team of the Year (TOY) race presented by Lucas Oil. Since the event is held over two days, TOY points will be doubled, making the prestigious title within reach of every competing team.
Many of the tournaments have been decided by narrow margins, and the Lucas Oil Team of the Year race is shaping up to be quite the race as well. The Cabela’s sponsored team of Jeff Reynolds and angling partner Randall Bruce hold a slim nine-point lead (487 pts.) over Russell Cecil and Todd Castledine(478 pts.).
If Reynolds and Bruce are able to hold on to the lead they will receive customized Texas Team Trail rings designed specifically for the Lucas Oil Team of the Year, along with entry fees paid in 2013.
For the final event, prizes for the top two teams include Ranger Boat/Motor Packages. First place will receive a Z119 with a Mercury 225 PRO XS and second place receives a Ranger Z118 with an Evinrude 150 HO. Also up for grabs are sponsor bonuses/possible upgrades, Cabela’s Anglers Cash and Big Bass Prizes.
The final event takes place out of Diablo East Marina with an entry fee of $250 plus the optional $100 Angler Advantage Program. Anglers who qualified for the championship event can begin registration online July 9, 2012 or by calling 210-788-4143.
