Interview with Drew Gregory, Kayak Angler Set to Appear at ICAST
OutdoorHub Reporters 07.10.12
Drew Gregory has made a name for himself as a professional kayak angler who has logged about 750 hours of kayaking. He got into the sport in college when low on funds, but now continues with fishing from a kayak as it is still cheaper, good for the environment and a benefit to his health.
In 2008 he launched RiverBassin.com, an online community for bass anglers who share the passion of floating down rivers in their own paddle-powered watercraft. This gave rise to the River Bassin Tournament Trail, where anglers could enjoy a bit of competition offline. The tournament saw its last year in 2011 so that Gregory could focus more on kayaking fishing and on his website.
During the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market earlier this year, Kayak Angler TV stopped by Gregory’s booth to hear about the last Jackson Kayaks, one of Gregory’s sponsors. Learn more about the fishing kayak prototypes set to come out at the end of this year and beginning of next below.
