Brian Zins Enters NRA Championship on Top

Port Clinton, Ohio – Ten-time NRA National Pistol Champ Brian Zins returned to the NRA Championships today with a vengeance. The Top Shot runner-up served notice on the competition with a morning performance that currently finds him in the Preliminary Pistol Championship lead. Pictured above, Zins’ first two shots were perfectly placed for the .22 Caliber Stage of the match.

NRA Preliminary Pistol Championship
Place Competitor Score
1        Brian Zins 893-56x
2        James Henderson 890-50x
3        David Lange 884-38x
4        Richard Kang 882-41x
5        John Zurek 881-40x

Zins finds himself in a good spot with an excellent score of 893-56X … only a point away from his 1996 National Championship Record of 894-50X. Last year’s winner, SFC James Henderson, is in second with a 890-50X while David Lange makes up from yesterday’s shooting with a third place finish.

Please remember that these are only preliminary results. Scores from several shooters are still on their way to the Stats Office so the standings could change. For the final results, check back here on NRAblog as the final results will be posted once the challenge period concludes.

Congratulations to our three current leaders and the rest of the competitors in today’s match.
