Missouri State Parks hosts History Day July 21 at Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site

Learn more about the history of Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site near Ash Grove at Boone History Day Saturday, July 21. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will feature presentations by historic site staff and special guest speakers. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the site office. Admission to the event is free and the public is invited to attend.
Frontiersman Nathan Boone moved to Greene County with his family in 1837 when southwest Missouri was still the western edge of white settlement. Presenters at Boone History Day will speak on aspects of Boone’s life and career as well as the history of the farm and the Boone family’s legacy in Missouri.
Nathan Boone Homestead State Historic Site preserves the last home and grave of Missouri frontiersman Nathan Boone. The historic site is located 1.5 miles north of Ash Grove on State Highway V.
