Success comes in three’s for Koppers Fishing and Tackle Corp. as the makers of LIVETARGET Life-Like Lures received top honours last week at the 55th Annual ICAST trade show in Orlando, FL., winning the 2012 Best New Hard Lure Award for their innovative Frog Popper. The accomplishment comes on the heels of winning similar awards in 2010 and 2011 in the Best New Soft Lure category.
“We are thrilled to receive this award. Being recognized at this event is a great honour, and having success in two different categories is an enormous accomplishment”, says company president and Niagara native, Grant Koppers. “Anglers are inundated every year with thousands of different styles of lures, and our goal is to ensure our brand stands out from all others, both in quality and design.”
With three consecutive wins, the Niagara-on-the-Lake based company has earned a respectable place in the sportfishing trade by creating life-like lures with 3-D anatomical detail and ultra-realistic paint finishes. The acknowledgement at ICAST, the fishing tackle industry’s largest global trade show, “will not only accelerate the company’s sales, but also strengthen the LIVETARGET brand in the U.S. and international markets” states Koppers.
The American Sportfishing Association hosts ICAST (International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades), creating a competitive platform in the New Product Showcase for more than 700 new products. The exhibition allows producers from all over the world to showcase their latest innovations in fishing tackle, equipment and accessories, which attracts buyers and media representatives from more than 60 different countries.
