‘OR Rocks!’ Showcases Outdoor Culture At Summer Market 2012

From jamming after hours to film screenings asking hard questions about a lack of diversity in our country’s national parks, OR Rocks! returns to Outdoor Retailer Summer Market to celebrate the outdoor culture during the industry’s semi-annual tradeshow with a full schedule of events.
OR Rocks! Films @ UMOCA (Utah Museum of Contemporary Art)
Thursday, August 2, 7:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday, August 3, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, August 4, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Featuring films from every corner of the outdoor world, OR Rocks! Films @ UMOCA gives attendees three days of adventure films away from the hustle and bustle of the show. UMOCA is located next door to the Salt Palace and opening night features the Reel Paddling Film Festival presented by Rapid Media. Days two and three bring a collection of short films and two features gathered from the 5Point and Mountainfilm festivals curated by James Mills of the Joy Trip Project. Presented by Sierra Nevada, Stanley PMI, Clif Bar, LED Lenser, Adroll and Sanuk. Admission is free with a valid 2012 OR Summer Market badge.
The Great Outdoors Photo Contest Winners

Salt Palace
The most outstanding photographs from the Photo District News (PDN) Magazine’s Great Outdoors photo contest will be on display in the Salt Palace. Winners from the professional, amateur and people’s choice divisions are featured and include images in categories ranging from outdoor sports to plants and animals that display the world-class talents and once-in-a-lifetime shots that capture the outdoors.
All Star Industry Jam
Saturday, August 4, 9 p.m. – 1 a.m.
Club Elevate, 155 W. 200 S.
The Industry Jam is back for after-hours entertainment with a new lineup featuring retailers, suppliers, reps, manufacturers and other industry insiders taking their turns on stage. Hosted by climber and funny-man Timmy O’Neill, this year’s jam benefits a pair of worthy causes, Paradox Sports and Rios Libres. Presented by Klean Kanteen, Osprey Packs and Patagonia, this year’s line-up features the following industry bands:

OR Summer Market began August 1, 2012 with the Open Air Demo at Jordanelle Reservoir, followed by the indoor portion of the tradeshow in Salt Lake City’s Salt Palace Convention Center, August 2-5.
