Long Time Ohio Division of Wildlife Employee Retires after 30 Years

Williams County resident, Rick Parrott has recently retired after 30 years of dedicated service to the people of the State of Ohio according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife.

Rick Parrott started working for the ODNR in 1981 as a Creel Clerk with the Division of Wildlife checking anglers at Clear Fork and Charles Mill Reservoirs. Then in 1983, Rick started with the Division of Wildlife fulltime at the Lake La Su An Fish Check Station. In 1984, Rick became the Work Unit Leader at Oxbow Lake. When the work unit was moved to St. Joseph River, Rick continued as the Unit’s leader where he has worked until August 2012.

“Anglers will miss Rick,” said Mike Wilkerson, Parrott’s supervisor. “He has dedicated 30 years to providing angler access across northwest Ohio and was instrumental in developing a unique bluegill fishery at La Su An.”

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources ensures a balance between wise use and protection of our natural resources for the benefit of all. Visit the ODNR Web site at www.ohiodnr.com.
