Youth hunters interested in hunting the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area Refuge for deer or waterfowl are required to attend the first, annual drawings on September 15, 2012. The drawing will be held to permit hunters with youth hunting licenses to hunt in the refuge portion of the Wildlife Area.

The drawing will take place at the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area Headquarters, 1691 Centerville Road, Shreve. Registration for the deer hunt drawing begins at 11:00 a.m. with the drawing beginning at 12:00 p.m. Registration for waterfowl hunt drawing begins at 1:00 p.m. with the drawing beginning at 2:00 p.m.

For deer hunting, a one-day archery hunt will take place on Saturday, October 6th. The Refuge will also be open during the statewide youth deer gun season on November 17th and 18th.  There will be seven deer hunting sections for all three hunt dates (for a total of 21 permits).

For waterfowl hunting, dates are on Saturdays and will be determined by the date of the drawing, once waterfowl seasons/splits are established.  A total of three dates and four blinds are available for each hunt (for a total of 12 permits).

All young hunters must bring a valid 2012 youth hunting license and must be present to be eligible for the drawing.
