The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry, has offered a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the theft of firearms from Blankenship Sporting Goods, a federally licensed firearms retailer in Richmond Hills, GA. This reward offer matches a $7,500 reward offer by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
According to ATF, 27 firearms of various types were stolen in a July 13 burglary from the store located at 456B Edsel Drive. ATF and the Richmond Hills Police Department are investigating the theft and are seeking information from the public that would lead to the resolution of this investigation.
Steve Sanetti, president of the NSSF, said, “Our matching reward offer we hope will assist ATF and local law enforcement in solving this crime against a federally licensed firearms dealer and lead to the swift recovery of stolen firearms before they can enter the illegal underground black market where they can be misused to commit violent crimes.”
The matching reward payment by NSSF will be granted only following payment of the initial ATF reward, which is up to $7,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.
Any information regarding this burglary should be reported by calling ATF at 912-658-5154 or on the ATF hotline: 1-800-ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867)
The ATF hotline is toll-free, and all information will be treated confidentially. Callers will remain anonymous upon request.
For any questions about the theft of these firearms, please contact ATF at one of the numbers listed above.
