Montana FWP Seeks Help from the Public in Bighorn Poaching Case

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Enforcement is looking for information related to a recently discovered case of poaching on the Indian Creek lime plant property west of Townsend.

FWP wardens confirmed today a 2 to 2/12 year old bighorn ram was shot on the property and left to waste within the last week. The public is encouraged to help FWP solve this case by calling (800) TIP-MONT with any related information. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.

FWP Warden Sergeant Dave Loewen called this case a “blatant disregard for wildlife” especially given that bighorn sheep are just beginning to recover from a major die-off in the area that occurred several years ago.
