Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail Will Hit New Waters on the Calamus Reservoir at Burwell, Nebraska

Coming up this weekend the Cabela’s King Kat Tournament Trail will hit new waters when they travel to the Calamus Reservoir at Burwell, Nebraska August 25, 2012. This guaranteed $5,000.00 minimum payback event is sponsored by the Burwell Chamber of Commerce.  For more information on the area call: (308) 346-5210 or visit their website at: http://www.visitburwell.org.

This is the opportunity for local catfish anglers to compete for cash, prizes and a chance to advance to the Cabela’s King Kat Classic with the top 20 teams qualifying for the classic. This year’s Cabela’s King Kat Classic will be held on the Alabama River at Selma, Alabama  September 27/28/29, 2012.

Calamus Reservoir is home to some of the biggest channel cats in the country with 5 fish stringers often exceeding 100 pounds. The Nebraska state record channel cat is 41 pound with Calamus producing  2 fish this past year within 5 pound of the record.  This is probably the best chance for Cabela’s King Kat anglers to cash in on the $100,000.00 with Mustad                                                                                                                                         Hooks and their “Hook A Million promotion”.
