Nebraska Game and Parks to Consider Waterfowl Recommendations

Pending final approval by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commissioners, this year’s early teal hunting season will open on the Saturday following Labor Day.

The commissioners will consider the 2012 waterfowl season recommendations at their meeting Aug. 31 in Broken Bow. The meeting starts at 8 a.m. at Mid-Plains Community College, 2520 S. E St.

If the recommendations are approved, waterfowl hunting would begin Sept. 8 with the early teal season.

At the meeting, commissioners also will consider:

  • Recommendation for amendments to sport fishing, bait collecting and dealer, educational fishing project permit and aquatic invasive species regulations.
  • Recommendation for amendments to falconry regulations.
  • The operating and capital improvement budgets for fiscal years 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.
