Colorado’s Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area Hosts Campfire Cowboy Poetry

The Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area (AHRA) will host local poet and storyteller Bret M. Collyer on Friday, Sept. 7, at 7:30 p.m., at the Hecla Junction Recreation Site.  Join Great Outdoors Colorado Naturalist Claire Davis for an entertaining evening of Cowboy Poetry around a blazing campfire on the banks of the Arkansas River. This program is free but a valid parks pass is required.

Those interested in attending should meet at Hecla Junction Recreation Site, north of the intersection of U.S. Highway 285 and Colorado Highway 291 on Chaffee County Road 194, accessed from U.S. Highway 285. Bring a chair to settle down into! For more information contact AHRA at 719-539-7289.
