Montana: First Wolf Trapper Certification Set for September 8

Fish, Wildlife and Parks will host its first wolf trapper certification class on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the Montana Wild Center in Helena (2668 Broadwater Avenue) beginning at 9 a.m. Classes will also be held in the coming weeks and months in Bozeman, Butte, Dillon, and Livingston and in cities across the state. The full schedule of classes will be released shortly.

To participate in this event, would-be trappers must register online by using the link below. The system will ask for contact information including your ALS number if you have one.

Montana’s first wolf trapping season opens December 15 and runs through February 28. Certification is required in order to use a wolf license to trap wolves. Trapping licenses are on sale now and cost $20 for residents and $250 for nonresidents.

Classes are limited to 50 participants.
