New Hampshire: Free Outdoor Adventure Talk September 12 – Calling Whitetails

Increase your odds of success hunting deer in New Hampshire this fall by coming to a free talk by hunting expert Dean Vanier on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord, N.H. No pre-registration is required.

Vanier, of North Woods Hunting Products, has more than 35 years experience pursuing whitetails in the New England woodlands. His unique perspective on understanding the whitetail’s superior defense mechanisms can help hunters use them to their advantage.

Vanier will provide scouting tips, help hunters learn how to look for deer sign in the woods and how to apply that information during various phases of the rut. He looks at each of the three phases of the rut and explains how its progression dictates which calls and what types of scent to use.

At the talk, Vanier will demonstrate the variety of deer lures available, their intended use and how deer respond to them. You’ll learn typical calling and scent hunting tips and get an introduction to advanced calling and scent hunting techniques. This talk will give you a whole new perspective on hunting whitetails!

This talk is the first in the series of free Wednesday evening outdoor adventure talks at Fish and Game. The talks continue through October 10. See the full lineup at http://www.wildnh.com/Newsroom/News_2012/Q3/outdoor_talks-1_overview.html.
