Montana’s Newlan Creek Fishing Access Site to Close for Construction

The Newlan Creek Reservoir fishing access site near White Sulphur Springs will be closed for construction for nearly two months this fall.

The FAS on the west end of the reservoir near the dam will be closed from Sept. 17 to Nov. 6. The FAS includes a boat dock and ramp, fee camping sites and most of the latrines at the reservoir.

The only latrine to remain open will be at the east end of the reservoir. Non-fee camping sites near the east end of the reservoir will remain open, too. In addition, the county road alongside the reservoir will stay open.

Newlan Creek Reservoir is popular, drawing campers and anglers from throughout central Montana. However, usage drops off in the fall, which is why Fish, Wildlife and Parks waited until now to begin construction.
