Streamlight Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance flashlights and weapon light/laser sighting devices, announced that this year it is a Corporate Sponsor of the Travis Manion Foundation. In addition, it is also a Multi-Region Sponsor of the organization’s 9/11 Heroes Run, which honors the sacrifices of veteran, first responder, civilian, and military heroes of 9/11.
“We are very proud to expand our relationship with the Travis Manion Foundation this year,” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “As the lighting tools brand of choice by first responders, whatever uniform they wear, we have a long tradition of supporting organizations that help the families of fallen heroes and recognizing those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.”
In conjunction with its sponsorship of the Foundation and the 9/11 Heroes Run, Streamlight has introduced the Bronze Nano Light, a keychain light with a double-sided FOB that features the Travis Manion Foundation logo, Sharrah added. Streamlight will donate one dollar to the Travis Manion Foundation for every light sold.
Inspired by one Marine’s pre-deployment visit with New York City firefighters, the 9/11 Heroes Run started in 2007 as a small town event in suburban Philadelphia to honor all those who serve the United States in uniform. The initial 5K race has grown to 40 races throughout the United States and internationally.
An estimated 25,000 runners, 50,000 spectators and 2,000 volunteers around the globe will take part in this year’s events, which are scheduled for the weekend of September 8, the 11th anniversary of 9/11. Streamlight will sponsor six local races, including those in Center City Philadelphia, Doylestown, Pottstown, and West Chester, PA, Pennsauken, NJ, and Wilmington, DE. The company also is sponsoring races in San Diego, CA,Jackson, FL, Virginia Beach, VA, and Camp Bagram, Afghanistan. For more information on these and other races, visit http://911heroesrun.com.
