USPSA Nationals to Host First Shots Second Round Event

The National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) First Shots program has helped introduce thousands of new faces to firearms ownership and the shooting sports.

Now that they’ve taken those all-important First Shots, all of these new shooters are invited to Las Vegas next month for a First Shots Second Round event at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Nationals.

First Shots Second Round events will be held Oct. 19 and 20, both starting at 8 a.m., at Desert Sportsman’s Rifle & Pistol Club in Las Vegas.

Attendees will get a hands-on introduction to USPSA action pistol shooting — with instruction coming from some of the top shooters in the world.

“This will be a great opportunity for people to gain a basic understanding of USPSA and also see some of the best shooters in the world compete,” said Tisma Juett, NSSF’s First Shots manager.

The First Shots program has provided an introduction to firearms ownership to 40,000 people nationwide. According to program research, half the individuals who attended past seminars have met local requirements for handgun ownership and have introduced another person to their new-found sport of target shooting.
