Missouri Land Reclamation Commission to Meet Sept. 27

The Missouri Land Reclamation Commission will meet at 10 a.m. on Sept. 27 in the LaCharrette Conference Room inside the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive.

The commission will discuss a hearing request regarding a permit expansion application for a Lewis County quarry company as part of the meeting.

Central Stone Co., located in Lewis County, has requested approval to add a new 555-acre quarry operation to its current permit. Opponents of the expansion have requested that the commission hold a formal hearing on the request, and the commission will consider whether to grant the hearing request. If the commission does not grant the hearing, the permit modification will be approved. The commission will also discuss mining permitting and reclamation activities during the meeting.
