Celebrate National Public Lands Day with Fee Free Day at Zion National Park and Pipe Spring National Monument

Zion National Park and Pipe Spring National Monument will join sites throughout the United States to celebrate National Public Lands Day on September 29, 2012. In celebration of this event, both Zion National Park and Pipe Spring National Monument will waive entrance fees to the parks.

Park visitors are reminded that the fee waiver is only valid on Saturday, September 29. Visitors who plan on being in the park beyond this date must pay the regular entrance fee for the remainder of their stay. The fee waiver applies to entrance fees only and does not affect fees for camping, tunnel traffic control, or wilderness permits.

National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance public lands. Originally established in 1994, it has become an annual event that allows volunteers to be directly involved in the stewardship of public lands. Both Zion National Park and Pipe Spring National Monument will be host volunteer groups to work on projects in the parks.
