Michigan’s Tahquamenon Falls State Park to Host Harvest Fest Oct. 13

Tahquamenon Falls State Park will host its 11th annual Harvest Fest at the Lower Falls on Saturday, Oct. 13. Activities begin at 10 a.m. and include hayrides with Smokey Bear, a camper chili cook-off, kids’ crafts, apple cider tasting and a costume contest. Campsite decorating will be judged beginning at 1 p.m. Trick-or-treating through both the Overlook and Riverbend campgrounds begins at 5 p.m.

“Harvest Fest is always a fun-filled event. Visitors enjoy dressing up for the costume contest and walking through the decorated campground. Campers do a spectacular job decorating their sites,” said Tahquamenon Falls State Park interpreter Theresa Neal. “Some of them begin planning months in advance.”

Campsites are still available and can be reserved online at www.midnrreservations.com or by calling 1-800-44-PARKS.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park is located at 41382 West M-123 in Paradise, Mich. For more information about Harvest Fest, call 906-492-3415 or find a detailed itinerary online at www.michigan.gov/tfallseducation. A Recreation Passport is required for all vehicles entering the park.
