The Department of Game and Fish will conduct a class for volunteers who want to be hunter education instructors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the department office at 2715 Northrise Drive in Las Cruces.

The class is for instructors who have not taken a hunter education class within five years. It will be followed by an Instructor Training Workshop from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday Oct. 21. The workshop is required to become a certified instructor and will familiarize volunteers with lesson plans, policies and procedures about teaching a Hunter Education course. To register for the workshop, please call (800) 228-6643.

Some course work must be completed before attending the classes. A workshop packet will be mailed to participants once they have registered.
