Coming Up: Montana’s Youth Deer Hunt
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks 10.15.12
Again this year, legally licensed youngsters, 12-15 years old, will be able to hunt deer Oct. 18-19, the Thursday and Friday preceding the Saturday general season opener.
During those two days, youth hunters with a general or deer B license may take deer species and sex that are available to the general public on the first day of the general firearm season, Oct. 20, in the specific hunting district the youth is hunting.
A nonhunting adult at least 18 years of age must accompany the youth hunter in the field.
Shooting hours, hunter education requirements and all other regulations that apply to the regular deer firearm season apply to the youth two-day deer season.
The youth hunt is for deer only.
The deer and elk general seasons open on Saturday, Oct. 20.
