Tips Sought in Montana Moose Poaching

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks game wardens are looking for tips on a cow moose that was poached on Spotted Dog Wildlife Management Area (WMA) near Avon during the week of Oct. 7.

FWP warden, Joe Kambic, reported finding a cow moose along Spotted Dog Creek, located in the middle of the WMA near the reservoir. Most of the moose, including meat and hide, was taken, but wardens recovered the remaining evidence and are now looking for help from the public to solve the case.

Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to call 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 for providing information that leads to a conviction.
