Cabela’s Announces Mass Hire in Saginaw Nov. 7-10

Cabela’s Incorporated, the World’s Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, plans to hire approximately 115 full-time and part-time employees, plus seasonal workers, to staff its Saginaw Outpost Store scheduled to open early next year in Saginaw, Mich.

Most employees are expected to come from Saginaw and the surrounding area.
“The ideal candidate is someone who has a love of the outdoors and is passionate about customer service,” said Bruce Biedenharn, general manager of the new store. “We are looking for employees who embrace the Cabela’s lifestyle and are eager to share their enthusiasm with others.”
The Saginaw location is the second Cabela’s Outpost Store, following the opening of the store in Union Gap, Wash. in October. Cabela’s Outposts are designed for efficiency and flexibility and will be built in markets of less than 250,000 people, offering the same quality products and legendary customer service for which Cabela’s is famous, but in underserved areas.
The 43,000-square-foot store will be Cabela’s second in the Great Lakes State, joining the Dundee location. An additional location will open in Grandville in spring 2013. The Saginaw location will be located in the Saginaw Shopping Center, located on Tittabawassee Road. The shopping center also features Target, Staples, McDonald’s and Toys R Us.
“We are very excited to introduce Cabela’s new retail format to Saginaw,” said Biedenharn, who previously held management positions at Cabela’s Hamburg, Pa., and Wheeling, W.Va., locations. “After hearing of the successful opening at the Union Gap location, we are looking to build on that success here in Michigan”
Cabela’s plans to open stores in Columbus, Ohio; Grandville, Mich.; Louisville, Ky.; Green Bay, Wis.; Thornton, Colo.; Lone Tree, Colo.; Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; and Kalispell, Mont., in 2013. The company also will relocate its Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada store to a new, larger location. Additionally, in 2014, Cabela’s has announced plans to open stores in Bristol, Va.; Christiana, Del.; and Anchorage, Alaska.
