Colorado Birding Trail Meeting Set for Grand Junction

The new, northwest portion of the Colorado Birding Trail, a series of driving loops designed to provide the public with a variety of wildlife viewing opportunities across large portions of the state, will be the topic of a presentation offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. at the agency’s Northwest Region office, located at 711 Independent Avenue in Grand Junction.

Details about the project will be made available to everyone, and civic-minded landowners can learn how they can diversify their property by sharing with the public the excellent, wildlife viewing opportunities often found only on private land.

By allowing access to a portion of their land as part of the Colorado Birding Trail, landowners will have a unique opportunity to partner with Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the many other agencies involved in the planning of the birding trail.

Staff from Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory will be available to answer questions and listen to comments, and everyone is invited to enjoy refreshments, dinner and a fun, lively discussion.

Please RSVP to Jeff Birek with Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory at 970-482-1707 ext. 25, or by email to: jeff.birek@rmbo.org

The Colorado Birding Trails in the southwest and southeast portions of the state have been completed, and the northwest phase of the birding trail is scheduled for completion in June 2013.
