Kids are the Winners on Wingshooting USA TV

The latest winners of the NSSF-sponsored “Take Your Kid Hunting” sweepstakes on Wingshooting USA head ‘em up and move ‘em out this week. Lynn Burdick and her two sons join Wingshooting USA TV host Scott Linden for a horseback hunt at Northeast Oregon’s Ruggs Ranch. Their bird hunting adventure will be recorded for an upcoming episode of the show.
Enroute, the winners will be treated to a uniquely Oregon experience, shopping for gear at the Filson store in Portland, then overnighting at the historic Balch Hotel in Dufur, gathering place for cattlemen in decades past and now a boutique bed and breakfast. Once at Ruggs, the Burdicks and Linden will test the Ruggs Ranch’s new sporting clays course, saddle up for high-country hunting, and finish at the luxurious lodge for a fast-paced pheasant hunt behind cocker spaniels.
A working cattle ranch, Ruggs should seem like home to the Burdick family – sans chores. They raise cattle in Connecticut. They are the fourth winners of the annual Take Your Kid Hunting effort, created by Linden and NSSF to encourage current participants to recruit newcomers to bird hunting. According to Linden’s fan survey, his viewers did that over 2 million times last year.
