Colorado’s Barr Lake State Park Hosts Ice Fishing Workshop on Dec. 15

Barr Lake State Park will host an ice fishing workshop on Dec. 15, 2012. The workshop will be held at the Nature Center from 10 a.m. to noon.

A representative from fishing gear maker Eagle Claw will be on hand to talk about ice fishing equipment and techniques to catch the BIG one. If the weather permits, there will be an on the ice portion of the workshop with a professional guide, Matt Macarenas from Tightline Outdoors,

A raffle to win prizes donated by Eagle Claw will be held at end of workshop. You could win that new rod you have always wanted. A daily or annual parks pass is required to enter the park.

The Nature Center is open Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Monday and Tuesdays. Visitors can purchase park passes, registrations and hunting/fishing licenses at the Nature Center. The center also carries a wide variety of: childrens books; puzzles and nature gadgets; field and hiking guides; natural history books; stuffed animals and puppets; numerous and unique bird items and ornaments; clothing with the Barr Lake State Park logo; and much more.
