Cabela’s – World’s Foremost Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic Sponsor

Nebraska-based outdoor retailer has been the presenting sponsor for all National Pheasant Fests since 2005.

Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) announce Cabela’s will continue the tradition of serving as presenting sponsor for National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic. This year’s event is February 15-17, 2013, at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic 2013, presented by Cabela’s, will be Pheasants Forever’s ninth such event, combining a national consumer show, habitat seminar series and family event complete with puppies, tractors, shotguns and art. This annual gathering has grown into the nation’s largest event for upland hunters, farmers, sport dog owners and wildlife habitat conservationists. In addition, this year’s event will celebrate Pheasants Forever’s 30th Anniversary as the leader in upland conservation.

“Cabela’s is proud to partner with our friends at Pheasants Forever and again serve as presenting sponsor of National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic,” said Scott Williams, Cabela’s chief marketing officer. “We support the tremendous efforts of Pheasants Forever to promote the growth of this sport and access to public hunting land.”

“We’re extremely excited to bring our signature event back to Minnesota to celebrate Pheasants Forever’s 30th anniversary and just as excited to have Cabela’s on board as presenting sponsor for National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic 2013,” said Brad Heidel, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever director of corporate sales.

Bobwhite population losses over the last 25 years range from 60 to 90 percent across the country. The reason for the quail population plunge is simple - massive losses of habitat suitable for quail. There are five major factors leading to the losses of quail habitat; intensified farming and forestry practices, succession of grassland ecosystems to forests, overwhelming presence of exotic grasses like fescue that choke out wildlife, and urban sprawl.
