Ibex Outdoor Clothing, manufacturer of technical Merino wool apparel and accessories of the highest quality, this month was named to Internet Retailer’s Hot 100 List: The World’s Best Retail Websites for 2013.

In the 2012 edition of the Hot 100, Internet Retailer recognized Ibex for its innovation and prominent use of color on ibex.com, pointing to the navigation tabs for men’s and women’s clothing that feature a ‘browse by color’ option, which lets visitors click color swatches to view everything Ibex sells in those particular colors.

According to Internet Retailer, “The [Ibex] site also calls on staffers for their opinions on the latest products; a series of video clips features employees describing what they like best and why. The retailer’s two Twitter leads—@Ibexgirl and @Ibexdude—also act as models for hats in the site’s ‘hat-o-matic’ visualizer.”

The editors of Internet Retailer added, “Apparel and accessories is, without question, the toughest category to get into on the Hot 100 because many retailers in the category pack their sites with features.”

“Adding some fun to our shopping tools enables us to present product differently, and showcasing products by colors to consumers is one example of that,” said Keith Anderson, Vice President of Marketing for Ibex. “We’re honored that Internet Retailer felt the way we’re showcasing our apparel on our web site made us worthy of inclusion in this year’s Internet Retailer Hot 100.”

Internet Retailer selects its annual Hot 100 list of e-commerce sites by choosing companies that have broken new ground in some way other e-retailers can learn from. In explaining its selection process for the Hot 100, the editors of Internet Retailer state, “once a year we think it’s important to offer our informed judgments on the online retailers that are leading in innovation, even if not yet in sales.”
