Officials from Orion Entertainment, the world’s largest producer of outdoor lifestyle television, announced that the saltwater fly fishing series Buccaneers & Bones, hosted by legendary news anchor Tom Brokaw, has been nominated for four 2012 Golden Moose Awards in the categories of Best Overall, Best Fishing, Best Conservation, and Best Videography. The Orion-produced seriesFord’s Fishing Frontiers also was nominated for Best Overall and Best Fishing. Ford Trucks Takes PBR Outdoors was nominated for the Best Fishing award. The winners will be announced at the 13th Annual Golden Moose Awards on January 17, 2013, at the Venetian in Las Vegas. The 2013 ceremony will be broadcast on Outdoor Channel.
Buccaneers & Bones stars a luminary cast including anchor Tom Brokaw, actor Michael Keaton, Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard, legendary anglers Lefty Kreh, Andy Mill, and April Vokey, and author Thomas McGuane. The series combines fly fishing action on the water, camaraderie at the lodge among the cast, and cutting-edge science as we learn of the research underway to try to solve the mysteries of the elusive gamefish of the flats.
