Pangrac Set to Join Blue Heron Communications

Blue Heron Communications is pleased to announce the recent hire of Matt Pangrac of Norman, Okla. Pangrac will serve as the lead contact for professional team management of all Pure Fishing bass pros. Pangrac’s in-field experience and many years of fishing will greatly enhance the relationships between the anglers and Pure Fishing. The Pure Fishing team includes notable pro anglers such as Bassmaster Classic winners Skeet Reese, Mike Iaconelli, Davy Hite, Paul Elias and reigning champion Chris Lane.

While at Oklahoma, Pangrac was a founding member of the University of Oklahoma Sooner Bass Anglers collegiate fishing team.

He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s degree in communications in 2008, and began working with The BASS ZONE, an independent website that covers professional bass fishing. During that period, he started his own media company, 71 Media L.L.C., and has worked with Z3 Media, parent company of The BASS ZONE, for the past five years.

“Matt has been covering everything bass fishing for the past few years and it’s his vast knowledge of the sport that we look forward to utilizing,” said Gary Giudice, president of Blue Heron Communications. “Not only a solid member of the bass fishing network, but he is also a great fisherman himself. He can relate and anticipate what the Pure Fishing pro team needs to be successful on and off the water. We look forward to having Matt as a member of the Blue Heron team and serving Pure Fishing’s bass pro team.”

Since May 2008, Matt has been on-location at every Bassmaster Elite Series tournament, covering the tournaments and providing play-by-play reporting from the water. He has also freelanced articles and photos that have been published in various bass fishing magazines, and was the beat writer for the 2012 PAA Tournament Series and Toyota Texas Bass Classic. Matt averages between 90 and 150 days a year on the road covering the professional bass fishing tours.

In 2011, He became the senior writer for The BASS ZONE, providing daily written material for the site. In January 2011, he joined Mark Jeffreys and Dru Smith as a co-host of Bass Talk Live, the nation’s only daily live webcast covering the sport of professional bass fishing.

In August 2012, he was one of eight anglers selected to be a part of The World Series of Bass, The Dream reality TV show, which began airing on the NBC Sports Network in October. Matt has been an avid tournament angler since the age of 14, and is a current member of the North Oklahoma City Bassmasters and Oklahoma B.A.S.S. Nation.
