Beginning January 15th , MDWFP will begin accepting applications for turkey hunting on selected Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs).  Individuals may apply online at, and the application deadline is February 15th.  Permitted turkey hunts were implemented to provide a quality turkey hunting experience and are available on 16 WMAs.  There will be a charge of $5 for each permit application; these proceeds contribute to managing WMAs.  Applicants for the Sardis Waterfowl WMA, Ward Bayou WMA, Theodore Mars WMA, and Natchez State Park turkey hunts must be 15 years of age or younger.
