Our best reports this week came from Albuquerque South, Peralta, Belen and Corrales Drains. Ravil Sitdikov and his son Ayrat fished the Corrales Drain on Jan. 9 and had a great time. They were floating/drifting Mike’s GLO salmon eggs under homemade balsawood mini bobbers on 4-pound-test fluorocarbon with very small split shot and size 10 hooks. This method allowed them to cover lots of water and fish shallow and in hard to reach areas. They caught and landed several fish in the 12 to 15.5 inch range. According to Ravil, “Our 2-hour fishing adventure at the Corrales Drain was just excellent and very enjoyable”. Drifting baits or flies on light tackle is one of the best methods of catching fish on all the drains. Give it a try.
