The LaCrosse Burly Becomes a Pro

The flagship boot from LaCrosse Footwear has been the Burly, and the next set of improvements on this boot has made it the AlphaBurly.

“This year’s model has been dubbed the AlphaBurly Pro,” Taylor Towne, public relations coordinator for LaCrosse Footwear, explains. “We’ve decided to refresh this line for 2013 by adding new features and benefits, along with a better fit and more comfort. We’ve used a more-natural rubber compound to make it more flexible and easier to put on and take off. We also have removed some of the rubber from the upper part of the boot and used neoprene to add more flexibility. Instead of a rubber gusset, we’re using a neoprene gusset to increase stability.”

To me, the biggest improvement is on the inside of the boot. Instead of a fleece inner lining, LaCrosse has added an embossed neoprene lining with channels to increase airflow and prevent the foot from sweating so much. Too, you can get a camo outsole, which is great for the turkey hunter. The uninsulated AlphaBurly Pro has a bigger lug system sole.
